My Craft Room

I had intended in posting these pics here last week. But then, you know, life happens. I got sick again, could not start cleaning it so I ended up not posting.
Never too late, here they are today. These are before pictures, so keep that in mind. This is not going to be an easy task so I need help from you guys. Motivational speeches are always welcome.
You can even use the 'soap box' that is fine with me heheheh.
I am really hoping that by next week I can post the 'after' pictures. Also hoping that the room will be at least a bit more organized. I can clean very well, but I lack on the organizational skills.

This is the closet area. As you can see, right now it's impossible to get to the closet, unless you step in some boxes and climb over that big chair.

This is my shipping station. Here is where I have all my mailing supplies, scale and so forth. It's very difficult to package my items to be shipped unless something gets dumped on the floor or in the drawers.

These next two photos are of my 7' table where I actually craft. Well I try to. Right now it takes me forever to find anything. I know it's there, but it's buried under paper, stamps, ink, embossing powder. Give me a change will you? Please :P I know I am bad but then again too much organization dries up your creative juices.

I forgot to take a pic of my "photo shoot" station by the window. But believe me it's a mess also.
Keep checking back for updates. Ideas on how to go about this are also welcome.

Looks like mine- deciding on better organization syste... We're moving on October 10th, so I figured I would come up with the system- then implement it then!

It looks like you have the start of some systems. Grab your 3 boxes, and get to work! If it makes you feel better...I'm still working on my area! I'll get it done this week, if you promise to get yours done too! I want to post your before/after pics on my blog!

I thought creative people were messy. lol

And yes, I agree, get a system going. Set a pace for yourself.

I agree... too much organization--dries up your creative juices. I have a mess in my back-room (which is the computer room) --where I do most of my administrative stuff (bills, listing, blogging...etc) Lately though my crafting gets done on the couch where most of my beads are eaten by cushions, eek!

Just pace yourself --you can get organized slowly. I am sure you have been busy with other important items on your "To-do" list.

I will follow your blog --so that I can get updates on your progress :)

Looks like a place where a lot of creative things happen. I don't see a problem with it.
I like having things out and at hand. When it gets too messy, then I do a cleanup, otherwise, I don't worry about it. Guess it's a personal call, how each individual likes to work.

Dal, I just want some, 'some' organization.
I also like to have what I need at hand. If I have to get up to get things from drawers I lose the 'moment.'

Pretty much how my whole room looks like. Floor and all.

Rather, more on the floor....

I am sort of glad to know that I am not the only one who has a "skewed" work area... I am also trying to clear out an area to create. For a few years I had been eBaying so I had things set up for that and I am trying to become more of an Etsian! Thanks for the encouragement, knowing we all are working through this stuff together!
I love your statement of faith as well.

Okay...this looks kinda like our living room. Treacherous paths threaded through mounds of...well....lots of useful stuff.

Hello there! My name is June said...

I just gave mine a one half day & evening overhaul. Trying to think of helpful tips to share...and can't come up with a super solution other than cleaning when the mood strikes. Put on some lively music...picture how you want it to look when you're done...and go man go! My room was just as bad. It's app. a 9' x 9' room & when it's cluttered it's impossible to move about. Here's a photo of a 'before' shot from last year: http://www.flickr.com/photos/isewcute/3325580748/in/set-72157612829787324/
and after: http://www.flickr.com/photos/isewcute/3325581128/in/set-72157612829787324/
Hope to have motivated ya a little & that your health has improved! You can't clean when sick...just not a good thing. :o)
